Management team.
David has had a long association with the theatre, and has worked for a number of societies and companies in NZ and overseas.
Shows directed include The Producers, Slice of Saturday Night, Blood Brothers, Chicago, Return to the Forbidden Planet, and Little Shop of Horrors and Miss Saigon. David has considerable performing experience as well, taking leads in Oliver, Cabaret, Godspell, Guys and Dolls and Me and My Girl and Hairspray, as well as a in a host of comedies.
Throughout his theatrical career David has been involved in most of the disciplines, as well as running courses on Directing Musicals, and acting as a consultant to new directors. David has also worked professionally in NZ and the UK in lighting and sound as well as performance, choreography and direction.
In “the day time” David has held senior management roles with large international retailers, and acts as a coach and mentor to a number of retail professionals. David serves on the advisory board for NZ’s Retail Service IQ, is an Associate Fellow of the NZIM, and a regular guest speaker at Auckland Universities MBA program.
Grant Meese is the man behind your production - The driving force to achieve 100% commitment from cast and crew, he will successfully transform any stage. He is directly responsible for the day to day operations of the production company, working behind the scenes to book venues, human resources and establish communications and protocols with suppliers and contractors.
Grant's skills encompass operational management and creatively directing the artistry of Amici from direction to design. Grant has been closely involved within New Zealand's musical arena for over 35 years. His stage skills extend across the full spectrum as performer, to choreographer to director. As an avid supporter of the arts, Grant holds high creative and production values in all his work, ensuring top quality theatre and events are produced for all to enjoy. His primary role as a foundation member is to continue to promote and expand New Zealand's talent through G&T Productions. Grant's focus and direction bring top quality entertainment to New Zealand now and in the future.
Directorial credits include: Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia, Anything Goes, 42nd Street and Cats at the Civic Theatre, New Zealand's Premier Theatre. At Wellington's Opera House and St James; Miss Saigon, Sound of Music, Phantom of the Opera and Cats. Other productions include Jesus Christ Superstar, Chicago, Grease, Company, Chess, Crazy for You, Aspects of Love, Brassed Off, Seussical the Musical, Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
From researching opportunities within the Performing Arts and to make them a reality is the experience Terry brings to the Management team. Leading from a successful corporate career Terry is able to bring the same skill sets to G&T Productions to seek out opportunities and collaborate with other stakeholders to deliver financially sustainable events. A key focus is to ensure that the vital marketing, publicity and sponsorship efforts are being coordinated efficiently and effectively. With his philanthropic nature Terry works with a number of Non-Profit organisations throughout New Zealand to promote the performing arts.
Whether working operationally or artistically, Hamish’s role as an Executive Producer for G&T Productions allows him to share his passion for high-quality, large-scale event production through New Zealand’s Musical Theatre landscape. As an in-demand director and choreographer, Hamish has worked extensively across New Zealand, the USA, and the UK, directing, choreographing and/or producing over 60 musicals.
Theatrical highlights include directing and/or choreographing Cats, West Side Story, The Phantom of the Opera, Matilda the Musical, the NZ Premiere of Elf the Musical, The Music Man In Concert, Heathers, Blood Brothers, Peter Pan and Les Misérables. Performance highlights include Bert in Mary Poppins at the Civic Theatre, Ensemble/Dance Captain in a One Night Only Production of Miss Saigon on London’s West End, and Captain Hook in Peter Pan, where he was awarded Best Guest Actor at the distinguished National Youth Arts Awards in America.
Hamish is well-known through his work in youth theatre, and is the Artistic Director of both Encore Theatre Collective and Kristin School – two of New Zealand’s leading institutions for theatrical education. He is the International Staff Director for the Metropolitan Educational Theatre Network in Southern California, and he is also a trustee for the Amici Trust.
Beginning his association with G&T Productions back in 2010 as a cast member in 42nd Street, he has experienced first hand the importance of what G&T Productions contributes to New Zealand’s theatrical landscape, and is proud to be involved in bringing their mission to fruition.
